Squiggling Squirrels
We are proud to present to you a number of beautiful items which have been made by a local artist based in Melton Mowbray. The artist in question is called Claire Powell and her work goes by the name of Squiggling Squirrels. Her artwork takes much inspiration from this picturesque area, its stunning natural landscapes, and its adorable animals. From rural village scenes to fields glowing with their spring blooms to majestic animals of the countryside, these pieces of artwork are a real treat. Claire is always a friendly face around Melton Mowbray, and many customers who frequent our shop will have likely had a chat with this very talented women, as she enjoys popping in regularly and catching up with the Foxy Lots team. Melton Mowbray based artist
Claire Powell was born and raised in Leicestershire and she lives nearby us in the wonderful part of the world that is Melton Mowbray. Her career as an artist can really be traced back to the 1990s, as it was at this point that a period of ill health enforced a change of job. In this difficult period, she was gifted an art set, and it really was love at first use. She then began a long creative journey, during which time both her passion and her skills deepened and extended each day. After a decade or so of personal discovery with different artistic media, Claire became a professional artist in 2008.

This range of Squiggling Squirrels art does not just take influence from world of British nature and wildlife, but also from further afield. Take a look across the range and you will see Claire's love for the natural world, in all its forms, shine through. Whether she is walking through the countryside in England taking inspiration from the new blooms in the meadows, or setting her artistic sights on animals from other continents such as magisterial tigers, Claire's passion for the beauty of nature is a driving force in all that she does creatively.

She is a multimedia artist constantly developing and improving her work, always to the highest possible standard . We are always excited to see what her next work will be.
