Linda Lovatt works from her small studio in the Scottish Borders town of Jedburgh to create her adorable Assemblages range. Made out of copper and brass, pieces of pottery, beads, buttons, and much else besides, these pieces of jewellery are indeed very much assembled! In fact, is some of the most artful assembly that you could imagine. With incredible delicacy and skill, Linda weaves together multiple materials to create multi-coloured, multi-textured items which are like no other. Take your pick from necklaces and brooches as well as ornaments too. Each one has a sense of fun and happiness to it that will be sure to lift the spirits whenever you gaze at it. These are statement pieces which are all about celebrating colour and celebrating the beauty of nature - its stunning flowers and its lovely creatures.
When you look at the bright and joyful colours of the Beastie Assemblage range, it should be no surprise that Linda Lovatt, mastermind behind the brand, takes influence from her garden and surrounding wild flowers. Flowers in her garden serve as inspiration for the pure explosion of colour in her ranges. This also goes back to Linda's upbringing, as she grew up on a smallholding in Shropshire, and so she was always experiencing the wonders of natural colour at its most exuberant. Linda brought this influence into her training as she went to Shrewsbury School of Art and then Glyndwr to graduate as an illustrator and designer. Blending her passion for the natural world and her impressive skill as an artist is this Beastie Assemblage range.
Her own brand of jewellery and decorative items was born initially out of Linda opening a gallery in the historic town of Jedburgh in Scotland. The combination of the art in her gallery, plus the old keys, pieces of pottery and other treasures which she found in her garden, inspired her to create a range of assemblage style jewellery. This jewellery has the quality of art, of found objects, and of the natural colours of spring bloom. It is a genius combination of all her influences and this all means that it is truly unique in its beauty. You can be sure that many people will be asking you where you got your necklace when you are wearing a Beastie Assemblage item of jewellery!
